Hikawa-Maru

The former cruise ship called “the Queen of the Pacific” sits in front of Yamashita Park. It is a luxury liner that was in service for 30 years from 1930 and has also been boarded by people such as Charlie Chaplin. It has closed temporarily as a sightseeing spot at the end of 2006. It will be turned over to NYK Line in March 2007 for a year of repairs with the goal of reopening in the spring of 2008.

Towers

The red brick clock tower of the Yokohama City Port-opening Memorial Hall represents the Jack. The Islamic like green dome of the Yokohama Customhouse the Queen. The square two-layered tower of the Kanagawa Prefectural Government the King. For a long time the towers have been affectionately known by these names because of their uniquely elegant appearance.

Marine Tower

At 106 meters high, it is one of the tallest inland lighthouses in the world. It will temporarily close as a sightseeing spot on Monday, December 25th, 2006 and be turned over to the City of Yokohama. Repairs will be made after that and it is scheduled to be reopened in 2009, which is the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port.

Yokohama International Passenger Terminal "Osanbashi Pier" Towers

This pier, called "Meriken(American) Wharf" , serves as the maritime entrance to Yokohama Port. It is presently used as an international marine terminal for luxury cruise ships, such as the Queen Elizabeth II, from around the world

Yokohama Doll Museum

The museum has about 13,000 dolls collected from 130 countries. After about one year7s renovation construction, Yokohama Doll Museum is reopened in April 2006 with the concept of "The Cruise of Touching the Dolls from the World."

This historical building, built in 1929 as Yokohama Central Telephone Office and later made the Yokohama Long Distance Telephone Office, is put to practical use as a commemoration hall to display a rich variety of materials on Yokohama's history and culture cultivated since the opening of the port, thus preserving the building. Models of lost modern buildings, brick drain manholes, and gaslights of the Meiji period are also on show to the public.
