Access

Takayama is easily accessible all year round by train. From Nagoya (taking the "Shinkansen" super-express from Tokyo, Osaka, or Kyoto) an express train reaches Takayama in 2 hours and 30 minutes.


Transportation

From Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto to Nagoya
JR Tokaido Shinkansen
(1 hour 40 minutes from Tokyo, 1 hour from Osaka)

From Nagoya to Takayama
JR Hida limited express train to Takayama
(140 minutes, one train per hour).

Within a city, you can walk, bicycle rental, bus or taxi.
